Route 23 is run by local charity Time Out as a social enterprise. Since 2006 Time Out has existed as a  charity  aiming to serve the local community by reaching out to those in challenging circumstances through regular clubs and events. We create spaces for friendship and supportive community where people can develop a sense of purpose, belonging and self worth.

The idea of Route 23 was born out of the desire of many local residents to promote a stronger sense of community in the Spring Lane area of Canterbury. By working with residents to support the setting up and running of a small pop up coffee shop within the neighbourhood centre we hope to provide a hub for meeting friends - or making new friends - and to make Tuesdays something to look forward to.

In 2015 Time Out was awarded a grant from People's Health Trust using money raised by HealthWhole through The Health Lottery and the project came to life. We have had generous help from many along the way, including more recently from our local Asda store, and are grateful to have just received National Lottery community funding for this next year.

Many thanks to all who have been involved in keeping us here serving the community.
